Babywise

I guess it's time for a new post. I can't believe I have even found the time to post one! I am loving being a mother but it feels like by the time I feed Lucy, change her and she is ready to go back to sleep I only have and hour (maybe 2 if she eats fast and I'm lucky!) until she's ready to do it all over again. That is assuming she sleeps through her whole nap. I'm not complaining because generally she really is great baby, we have been blessed, but it's definitly a change, a good one :) Anyway, I have been doing Babywise with Lucy. I absolutly LOVE the schedule that it keeps her on, I have NO IDEA how anyone could do it without one. I would go insane. She has recently started to cry bloody murder sometimes and we are working on helping her learn to put herself to sleep so that she will sleep through the night. We are doing it but it is not easy. Please, anyone out there that has gone though this, I need reinforcements and support. Any advice or support.....Thanks. Here is a pic of Lucy.
Sometimes she gets in her PJ's and waits for Brady in our big bed. Haha. It is adorable!

What a precious picture.

Well, I have no advice on Babywise but I have read the book "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" and I loved it. From what I understand (from talking to Gina) it's pretty much Babywise but not as strict. Maybe it would have some ideas for you...

I never used babywise, or anything for that matter.
I do, however, remember the crying to sleep. Oh, you mean the baby!
Well, yes, it is so hard to hear the tiny cry for too long. I sometimes would have to give in.
It will not last too long though. Just remember that it isn't hurting her and she won't remember it in the morning:) She will still love you just as much!
Good for you to do it nice and early.
You will be so grateful you did.
Bedtime is the best time for you to relax and finally have hubby time:)

Just hang in there. It doesn't last that long at all. She'll get used to it so fast. Plus, remember that the American Pediatrics Society says that crying is good for your baby. It's like their exercise every day. So think of it like that. Sure, she may not like it while she's doing it, but the benefits are worth it. Just like working out for us.

p.s. I put some of Lucy's pictures up on my blog if you want to look. They turned out great.

You're doing great Gretchen! I know it's hard. Licoln woke up every three hours the other night! Ahhhh! He's obviously still learning too. :) You know you can call me with any questions...I'll be waiting for those phone calls.
